Anti-Ragging Committee and Squad at Shri D. D. Vispute College of Science, Commerce, and Management
Regulations and Legal Framework: In accordance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) Notification on the Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, and the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 08.05.2009 in Civil Appeal No. 887/2009, Shri D. D. Vispute College has established both an Anti-Ragging Committee and an Anti-Ragging Squad to address and prevent ragging on campus.
Key Points:
Ragging is a criminal offense and is strictly prohibited under these regulations. The primary aim is to prohibit, prevent, and eliminate ragging to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all students.

Anti-Ragging Squad Responsibilities:
- Vigilance and Patrolling:
- The squad maintains continuous oversight, remaining mobile, alert, and active at all times.
- Surprise Inspections:
- Conducts surprise raids on hostels and other potential areas where ragging might occur. They have the authority to inspect these places.
- On-the-Spot Enquiries:
- The squad is empowered to conduct immediate investigations into reported incidents of ragging. Reports, along with recommendations, are submitted to the Anti-Ragging Committee for further action. The enquiry process will adhere to fair procedures and principles of natural justice, ensuring that all parties involved, including accused students and witnesses, have the opportunity to present their perspectives.
