Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology (B.Sc. BT)
The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biotechnology is a three-year undergraduate programme offered under the University of Mumbai. The course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in life sciences and biotechnology through a balanced combination of theory, laboratory practical and project work. The curriculum covers key areas such as cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, genetic engineering, bioinformatics, and bioprocess technology, in accordance with University of Mumbai guidelines. The programme aims to develop scientific knowledge, practical skills, and ethical awareness, preparing students for higher education, research, and career opportunities in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, agricultural, and environmental sectors.
